Electrical & Controls Engineer

A growing industrial manufacturer in the Greater Milwaukee area is looking for a Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to take ownership of the electrical and controls side of a customized material handling product line used in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and automated environments across North America.

This is a highly visible engineering role inside a collaborative, team-oriented environment where you'll have direct influence over:

Electrical systems

PLC programming

Controls architecture

Product improvements

Future technology direction

This is not a narrow support role buried inside a large organization.

You'll work across both hardware and software while helping drive modernization efforts tied to automation, smarter controls platforms, plug-and-play systems, and future connected technologies.

What You'll Be Doing:

Own the electrical and controls side of a customized industrial equipment product line

Modify and develop electrical schematics and controls systems

Program and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems

Support migration to newer controls platforms and technologies

Work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, installers, and technical support teams

Support integration projects tied to conveyors, automation systems, and large-scale distribution environments

Help troubleshoot escalated field or installation-related electrical issues

Participate in new product development and future platform improvements

Collaborate with third-party panel suppliers and controls partners

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

3+ years of electrical and/or controls engineering experience

Experience with PLC programming and industrial controls systems

Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting

Ability to work across both hardware and software aspects of controls engineering

Comfortable working in a hands-on, collaborative engineering environment

Experience with any of the following is helpful:

Allen Bradley

Omron

Horner

Studio 5000

Sysmac

HMIs

Ladder Logic

Material handling, conveyor, automation, or lift systems

Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary target around $110K with flexibility for exceptional experience
