Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Machinist (ALL LEVELS OF CNC WELCOME!)
Job Description
This role offers an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to develop and grow as CNC machinists on 2nd shift in a large aerospace manufacturing environment. You will set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, perform inspections, and read blueprints while receiving hands-on training and long-term development toward advanced machining or programming roles.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines, with a strong focus on CNC lathes and mills, to produce precision aerospace components.
Follow production plans and instructions to run parts efficiently and consistently during 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.).
Interpret and work from engineering blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure parts meet specifications.
Use inspection tools such as calipers and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality of finished parts.
Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure components meet quality and safety standards.
Monitor machine performance during production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and productivity.
Assist with machine setups, including loading tools, setting offsets, and preparing fixtures as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following shop safety and housekeeping standards.
Collaborate with team members and trainers to learn new machining techniques and improve skills over time.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and workflow.
Essential Skills
Experience in CNC setup or CNC machine operation, including lathes and/or mills (open to a wide range of experience levels).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Basic inspection skills, including the use of calipers and other measuring tools.
Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.) with 10-15 hours of overtime per week.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to follow instructions, production plans, and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Motivation to learn CNC machining processes and advance into higher-level roles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
NTMA (National Tooling and Machining Association) training or trade school education preferred.
1-3 years of CNC machining, setup, or operating experience is ideal, but candidates with school experience or with minimal hands-on experience are welcome.
Experience with Haas machines is a plus.
Ideally experience in production machining in an aerospace or similar precision manufacturing environment is beneficial.
Prior exposure to CNC programming or interest in progressing into programming roles is advantageous.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean aerospace manufacturing facility with a large, well-equipped shop that houses a wide variety of CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and Haas equipment. You will work on 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with regular opportunities for 10-15 hours of overtime each week. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and professionalism, with strong training support to help you grow into advanced machinist or programming positions.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
