Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day receivables and payables operations for a food processing organization in Vacaville, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who works well in a fast-moving environment, values accuracy, and can coordinate effectively with teams across sales, operations, procurement, and logistics. The role focuses on maintaining reliable financial records, helping drive timely cash application and vendor payments, and contributing to smooth month-end and audit support activities.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and distribute customer invoices by reviewing shipment activity, pricing terms, and customer agreements for accuracy.

Record incoming customer payments in the accounting system and keep account balances current across multiple payment methods.

Review receivables aging, communicate with customers or internal partners on overdue balances, and support collection efforts.

Examine billing issues and work with sales, customer service, logistics, and related teams to resolve discrepancies promptly.

Enter and process a high volume of supplier invoices, confirm account coding, and verify required approvals before payment.

Complete invoice matching against purchase orders and receiving records to ensure transactions are valid and properly documented.

Coordinate vendor disbursements, reconcile supplier statements, and address payment variances in a timely manner.

Assist with month-end accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal support, reporting preparation, and audit documentation.

Maintain accurate vendor and customer master data in NetSuite while supporting strong internal controls and compliance expectations. Requirements - 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a blended accounting support role.

Practical working knowledge of NetSuite in a transaction-heavy business setting.

Solid understanding of core accounting principles, including invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and general spreadsheet analysis.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of work accurately and consistently.

Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience in manufacturing, food production, agriculture, or other inventory-related environments is preferred.
