Job Description
Will be responsible for the preventive/predictive/breakdown maintenance and operation of a high speed ammunition production line. Persons will be required to work as a team in addressing line issues and for formulation and implementation of on-going improvement activity. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to increase equipment reliability and up-time.
Documents all checks, services and repairs in such a manner as to keep equipment manufacturer's warranties in effect and to maintain compliance with plant, local, state and federal requirements.
Performs repairs on facilities, systems, equipment or components that is consistent with mechanical ability, economically feasible and can be done in a timely manner.
Perform other similar duties of comparable or lesser skills requirements as required or directed, including but not limited to assisting other technical and manufacturing employees in the maintenance of plant property, systems and equipment.
Serves as a team member to solve problems or implement positive improvements.
Utilizing expert knowledge on call operations within the facility produces product according to the job instructions.
Adhere to all housekeeping/sanitation standards in and around work area including 5S standards.
Strives to become proficient in all manufacturing cells.
Troubleshoots mechanical repairs excluding electrical work; performs preventative maintenance as required.
Performs required quality inspections.
Completes necessary station tracking transactions.
Maintains a clean, uncluttered work area, according to 5S standards.
Works overtime when required.
Assist with any other projects and/or tasks on an as needed basis as directed by Team Leader and/or management.
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC controlled, high speed production equipment for a safe and productive work environment.
Comply with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and government (e.g. LOTOT, Work Permits, etc.).
Prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities to achieve both production and maintenance KPI's.
Operate machinery and achieve key performance metrics.
Educational Skills and Experience
High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent.
Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:
Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision
Read and comprehend process instructions
Record pertinent process information as required
Minimum 3 years of industrial or specialized maintenance experience preferred or a recognized certificate of training or diploma in a course of study in general mechanics AND 2 years verifiable experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities
Must satisfactorily pass a written comprehension test and mechanical aptitude evaluation
Mechanical drive experience, mechanical installation and alignment techniques (motor/gearbox, pumps, sprockets, sheaves).
Use or precision measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret machine manuals/schematics, electrical blueprints/schematics and process control diagrams.
Experience with AC/DC and servo motors, experience with limit and proximity switches, photo-electric sensors and solenoid valves.
Ability to work any of a 4 day 7 shift operation.
Knowledge/experience using the Microsoft Office suite including Excel for data collection and interpretation.
Work Environment:
Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
Pay Range:
Starting Hourly Rate: $25.12
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
