Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer specializing in machining processes is responsible for developing, optimizing , and troubleshooting machining processes for high-precision components used in critical aerospace applications. This role partners closely with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations to ensure safe, repeatable, and efficient production that meets cost, schedule, and quality requirements. The highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering - Machining has a deep hands-on experience with CNC machining and a strong ability to solve complex manufacturing challenges.

What you will do:

Develop, optimize , and document machining processes for CNC milling, turning, grinding, and brazing operations.

Create and refine manufacturing process plans, work instructions, and tooling requirements for machined components as well as sub-assemblies.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining related nonconformances.

Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of aerospace components.

Evaluate and select cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies to improve efficiency and quality.

Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing robust machining processes and validating them through trials and first article inspections.

Analyze production data to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and process stability improvements.

Provide technical support to machinists and production teams on the shop floor.

Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP, customer specifications).

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other structured methodologies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What sets you apart :

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering , manufacturing e ngineering, or related field ; or 7 years experience .

2-4 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably aerospace or high-reliability industries .

Knowledge of CNC machining includes:

Milling

Turning

Grinding

Brazing

Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, CATIA, Fusion 360).

Demonstrated ability to develop machining processes from concept through production.

Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications .

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in aerospace machining environments

Experience with 5 axis machining or complex aerospace geometries.

Familiarity with NADCAP special processes.

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.

Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and capability analysis.

Hands on shop floor experience working directly with machinists and operators.

Physical Requirements :

Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.

Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.

Vision : Visual acuity of 20/25 minimum, including color perception, adequate to perform job duties including visual examination of manufactured parts and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other: May require infrequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required . Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite duties. May requires bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted periodically throughout a regular work shift .

Pay Range $65,000 - 80,000/year
