Housing Inspector

Job Title: Housing Inspector

Location: White Plains, NY

Type: Contract

Compensation: $25.48/hr

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Hours: 40.0 hours per week

Responsibilities

Conduct residential housing inspections to ensure compliance with safety and housing standards

Identify maintenance, structural, and safety issues within units

Document inspection findings and complete detailed reports using tablets and inspection software

Communicate professionally with tenants, property owners, and internal teams

Determine required repairs and follow up on compliance issues

Manage multiple inspections independently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

Qualifications

Experience in inspections, construction, property maintenance, facilities, or related trades preferred

Strong customer service and communication skills, especially in challenging situations

Comfortable using tablets, Microsoft Teams, and other technology tools

Ability to work independently, stay organized, and adapt in the field

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Experience with Section 8, housing inspections, or residential compliance inspections is a plus

Bachelor's degree or equivalent field experience preferred

Must be able to obtain required inspection certification within 90 days of hire
