Summary You will serve as a SECURITY GUARD in the COMMANDER, NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND (CNIC) of NAVBASE VENTURA COUNTY SEC. Responsibilities You will protect property and critical national strategic warfighting assets from hazards including, but not limited to, acts of terrorism, sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire and accidental or willful damage and destruction. You will independently perform, with little or no supervision, installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles utilizing standard operating procedures. You will grant access to persons, denies entry or arranges for escorts in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will exercise a high degree of professionalism, tact, courtesy, and firmness in the performance of all force protection duties. You will perform foot or vehicle patrols based on post orders of perimeters, roadways, parking, and other high traffic areas as well as storage, administrative and other structures as designated You will serve as a member of the entry control/vehicle inspection team (static and/or mobile) which conducts private and commercial vehicles inspections. You will perform and resolve a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR THE GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Independently interpreting and adapting guidelines to respond to emergencies or unusual situations. - Understanding of specialized security rules and techniques required to counter serious threats (e.g., terrorism, espionage). - Conducting physical security patrols, executing personnel/vehicle inspections, and accurately documenting incidents or security breaches. FOR THE GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Following established SOPs and regulations, referring any major deviations to a supervisor. - Understanding of standardized rules required for access control and the protection of personnel and property. - Executing developmental tasks under close direction to build skills for the full-performance level.
