Job Title: 1st Shift General Production Worker - Industrial Sewing and Wire Rope Handling
Job Description
This 1st shift role offers a stable Monday through Friday schedule in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will work as a general production worker and receive training in one or more departments, such as industrial sewing or wire rope handling, based on your strengths and interests. The position involves operating industrial sewing machines to stitch straps or working with steel wire rope to prepare and braid products according to customer specifications. You will receive structured training and gradually move toward working independently while contributing to the production of high-quality lifting and securement products.
Responsibilities
Work full-time on 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Perform general production duties in assigned department, such as industrial sewing, wire rope handling, or related manufacturing tasks.
Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch straps of varying lengths, thicknesses, and patterns according to work orders and product specifications.
Read and follow work orders to ensure correct stitching patterns and strap configurations are applied to each product.
Handle and move steel wire rope that is unloaded from trucks and stored for future production needs.
Transport steel wire rope and related materials from storage areas to production departments for processing.
Braid steel wire rope into finished products that meet specific customer requirements, using hands, wrists, and arms extensively.
Perform repetitive production tasks with attention to detail and consistent quality standards.
Inspect materials and finished products for visible defects, accuracy, and adherence to quality specifications.
Assist with packaging of finished products to prepare them for shipment or further processing.
Follow established safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as ear protection and safety glasses.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, supporting the overall cleanliness of the facility.
Collaborate with team members and assist others as needed to meet production goals and deadlines.
Participate in training for up to six months, with the goal of working independently after approximately four weeks in the assigned role.
Communicate any production, quality, or safety concerns to supervisors or appropriate team members promptly.
Essential Skills
Previous production or general manufacturing experience.
Background in manufacturing, assembly, picking, or packing.
Ability to perform general labor and general production tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Experience as a laborer, material handler, machine operator, or production worker.
Capability to operate or learn to operate industrial sewing machines.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks using hands, wrists, and arms for extended periods.
Comfort working in a production manufacturing environment with machinery and some noise.
Attention to detail for inspection, packaging, and following work orders accurately.
Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
Reliability and willingness to learn multiple departments and tasks as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with industrial sewing or sewing machine operation in a production setting.
Prior experience in packaging and inspection within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with machine operation and general machine setup or adjustment tasks.
Experience handling materials such as wire rope or similar industrial materials.
Ability to work both seated and standing, depending on task and personal preference.
Willingness to complete a structured training period of up to six months while progressing toward independent work after approximately four weeks.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr.
