The Opportunity
Abbott Diagnostics is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance to serve as the lead finance business partner for the Digital Health Solutions (DHS) Business Unit and the Service Organization across the Latin America and Canada Area.
This is not a remote opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, commercial execution, and financial leadership. The BU Controller plays a critical role in shaping business outcomes by providing decision-ready insights, leading priority initiatives, and influencing senior leaders across the Area and broader Abbott organization.
The position is a balanced scope of strategic initiatives, business partnerships and people leadership that will provide a career runway to broader leadership roles within Abbott.
Strategic Business Partnership
Act as the primary finance advisor for the DHS and Service organizations in LAC, supporting full P&L ownership and driving disciplined growth.
Partner closely with Business Unit Directors, Area leadership, and country General Managers to:
Evaluate business opportunities and tradeoffs
Assess risks and upside scenarios
Influence decisions related to pricing, investment, and resource allocation
Develop a deep understanding of product portfolios, customer dynamics, and geographic market drivers to proactively guide strategy.
Financial Planning, Insights & Performance Management
Lead area-level financial planning and forecasting processes for DHS and Services, including:
Sales and expense forecasts
Long-range plans and Latest Best Estimates (LBEs)
Scenario modeling to support leadership decision-making
Deliver clear, insightful, and executive-ready analytics that highlight performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Support the Area Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process with high-quality financial insight and recommendations.
Value Creation & Strategic Initiatives
Serve as finance lead for key area strategic initiatives , including:
Margin and gross margin improvement
Cash flow optimization
Capital investment prioritization
ROI and Economic Profitability (EP) analysis
Partner closely with Commercial Excellence and Strategic Pricing teams to support new business growth and pricing discipline.
Translate strategy into actionable financial frameworks that improve execution and accountability.
Governance, Controls & Stewardship
Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of financial results through strong controls and disciplined execution.
Lead month-end close activities and ensure high-quality P&L, balance sheet, and sales reporting in compliance with GAAP and Abbott policies.
Maintain and support the effectiveness of the Abbott Quality System within the finance organization.
People Leadership & Talent Development
Directly manage and develop a Supervisor responsible for balance sheet forecasting, cash flow and capital planning, and managerial reporting.
Set clear expectations for analytical rigor, business acumen, and professional growth.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment that supports cross-functional effectiveness and builds future finance leaders.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
8+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, accounting, or related finance roles.
Demonstrated experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing decision-making.
Prior experience leading or developing other professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or other advanced degree.
Experience supporting commercial organizations, pricing, or investment decisions.
Exposure to regional or multinational environments with matrixed stakeholders.
Strong executive communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
International and Commercial finance experience is a highly preferred

The base pay for this position is $113,300.00 - $226,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
