As the Electromechanical Systems Specialist, this position will administer, upgrade, develop and maintain Compass, the Minnesota Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Home environmental management system. This position is responsible for the scheduling and management of the Compass software environmental management systems and related software support where applicable, maintaining proper configuration and access controls as well as assisting in problem solving and solutions to common infrastructure issues.

This position works closely with licensed trades and certified engineers in implementation, installation, and repair of existing environmental and HVAC control systems. In addition, this position will assist the Chief of Power Plant Operations, Plant Engineers, and maintenance staff in preparing and installation support of varied system attachments. This position will engage in small and large project work that is influenced by automation of environmental controls.

Minimum Qualifications

One year field experience operating and maintaining commercial building automation.

Experience with Direct Digital Controls (DDC) programing.

Field experience in low voltage wiring of actuators and sensor installation and/or replacement.

Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience operating and maintaining commercial building automation.

Programming within Visio or similar DDC (Direct Digital Controls) platforms.

Technical schooling on DDC programming and controls.

Experience performing electrical related work.

Low voltage certified in the State of Minnesota.

Additional Requirements

This position requires the successful completion of the following:

Finalists will be required to pass a driver's license check.

A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
