Overview
Are you an innovative and talented lawyer looking to join a collaborative in-house team? Are you interested in working on cutting-edge, challenging projects in the technology, media and advertising space? If so, Publicis Re:Sources is looking for someone like you to join its legal team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will provide sound legal advice and counsel to internal agencies and business units within Publicis Groupe who are focused on digital business transformation, ecommerce, adtech, media and data. Each day in this role will be different, as this position supports a variety of activities.
Responsibilities
KEY DELIVERABLES
Contract drafting and negotiations with external clients, vendors and partners
Acting as the main touchpoint for certain agency teams
Advising and guiding business teams on day-to-day operational issues
GENERAL DUTIES
Negotiate, review, and draft a variety of agreements, with a particular focus on client master service agreements, statements of work, data license agreements, and agreements with vendors
Research and provide concise advice on a wide variety of matters related to technology, media and data
Work closely and collaboratively with attorneys, finance, operations, security, risk, privacy experts, business development, and account teams on a variety of matters, which might include IP matters, agency law, data ownership, data privacy compliance, document review, dispute resolution, and internal reporting
Provide legal and best practices training to management and account teams
Make proactive contributions that maximize departmental efficiencies and simplify processes
Maintain awareness and understanding of the latest developments in the law and industry standards as they relate to digital media, and advertising technology
Provide support to senior members of the legal team
Other various duties expected of a general practitioner

Qualifications
The experience and education qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
JD from accredited law school
Current membership in good standing of a state bar, preferably of Illinois or New York
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a transactional attorney at a national or recognized regional law firm or, preferably, as an in-house attorney in a related field
Experience independently negotiating, interpreting and drafting commercial agreements
Subject matter expertise in technology, media, data, advertising, and/or privacy is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Use of computer, speaking on telephone
Writing
Daily carrying laptop and occasional lifting of file boxes
Ability to travel
WORK CONDITIONS
Preference for candidates located in or near Chicago, Illinois
Hybrid of both in-office and remote (home internet access) work
Some limited travel may be required
Evening or weekend work (home internet access) as needed
