Job Title: Warehouse Picker
Job Description
This role supports a high-volume distribution center by performing order picking, loading, and receiving tasks across the warehouse. You will operate material-handling equipment, use scanning technology and SAP, and help ensure accurate, safe, and efficient movement of products. This is an open-ended contract position with the possibility of being considered for direct hire based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
Accurately pick products from designated locations according to order specifications.
Operate an electric pallet jack safely to transport products throughout the warehouse.
Use RF scanning equipment to verify correct items, track inventory, and manage pick lists.
Double-check picked items against order lists to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Place picked items onto pallets in a secure, stable, and organized manner.
Wrap the top of pallets and prepare them for the automatic wrapping machine.
Pull pallets off the conveyor and prepare them for outbound shipment.
Scan pallets using provided equipment to ensure correct routing and documentation.
Use the SAP system to determine the appropriate dock door for each pallet or shipment.
Transport pallets to designated doors using a sit-down forklift while following all safety protocols.
Stage orders in the correct outbound areas to support timely shipping.
Use the SAP system to identify the correct door for incoming shipments.
Unload shipments from trucks and other delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
Stage the receiving area for the next order, including tucking tails, verifying tags and labels, and putting items away.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both picking and receiving zones.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating equipment and handling materials.
Stay self-motivated, maintain productivity, and remain on task throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
Willingness to operate an electric pallet jack in a warehouse environment.
Willingness to learn and operate a sit-down forklift safely.
Ability to work comfortably and consistently in cold temperatures (around 45 degrees).
Strong self-motivation and ability to stay focused and on task with minimal supervision.
Basic ability to use scanning equipment (RF scanners or scan guns) to track inventory and orders.
Comfort with physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and staging products and pallets.
Ability to follow detailed instructions, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using RF scanners to track inventory and manage pick lists.
Previous order picking experience in a warehouse or distribution center.
Prior experience operating an electric pallet jack.
Experience with loading, unloading, receiving, staging, and general material handling.
Familiarity with sit-down forklift operation.
Experience working with SAP or similar warehouse management systems.

Work Environment
You work in a refrigerated warehouse environment maintained at approximately 45 degrees, with all necessary cold-weather gear such as bibs and gloves provided. The facility operates both morning and night shifts. Morning shift roles begin with 1-2 weeks of training on a Monday-Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., then transition to a 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation. Night shift roles begin with 1-2 weeks of training Sunday-Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., then move to a 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. 2-2-3 schedule. Team members receive two paid 20-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute break per shift. You regularly use electric pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, RF scanners, scan guns, conveyors, and SAP-based systems to manage inventory and shipments. The dress code includes jeans and steel-toe or composite-toe shoes, with cold-weather bibs and gloves supplied to support comfort and safety in the chilled environment.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
