Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Job Description
Join a highly organized, temperature-controlled warehouse team that specializes in small rubber seals, o-rings, and gaskets. As a Warehouse Associate, you oversee products through the entire distribution process, from receiving customer orders to preparing shipments for UPS, FedEx, and palletized freight. You work in a clean, structured environment that operates much like an old-school library, ensuring every item is accurately picked, packed, and shipped.
Responsibilities
Receive customer-specific orders printed on pick sheets and review them for accuracy before starting the picking process.
Navigate the warehouse efficiently to locate and pick items according to the pick sheet, following the established organizational system.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail when selecting products to ensure correct part numbers, quantities, and packaging requirements.
Use RF scanners and data entry processes to update inventory records and confirm order accuracy.
Pack orders securely into small boxes for shipment via UPS or FedEx, following packaging standards to protect products in transit.
Prepare larger orders by placing packed boxes onto pallets for outbound shipping.
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trailers as needed.
Operate or learn to operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets, load and unload trailers, and support warehouse material handling.
Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move inventory safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.
Support inventory control and inventory management by helping with cycle counts, stock organization, and warehouse inventory accuracy.
Handle general labor tasks related to material handling, packaging, and warehouse upkeep to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Work independently to complete daily tasks while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while lifting, moving, and handling materials up to 50 pounds as needed.
Essential Skills
Ability to stand on your feet for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
High attention to detail when picking, packing, and handling inventory.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift, with most lifting below this weight.
Ability to work independently and stay productive with minimal supervision.
Experience or comfort with general warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, loading, unloading, and material handling.
Basic data entry skills to support inventory, shipping, and receiving processes.
Ability to use or learn RF scanners for order picking and inventory control.
Comfort using pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
Willingness to learn how to operate a sit-down forklift to assist with loading and unloading trailers.
Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes, including working with carriers such as FedEx and UPS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous sit-down forklift experience.
Previous warehouse experience in a distribution, inventory, or logistics environment.
Previous experience working as a shipping clerk or in a shipping and receiving role.
Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and warehouse inventory systems.
Familiarity with order picking, pallet loading, and general loader duties.

Work Environment
This role is based in a very clean, temperature-controlled warehouse where most products are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. The facility is organized in a highly systematic way, similar to a traditional library, making it easy to navigate and locate inventory. The standard schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break and very minimal overtime; weekend work is extremely rare. You spend most of the day on your feet, performing tasks such as picking, packing, loading, unloading, and inventory handling. You use RF scanners, pallet jacks, and may operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets and assist with shipping and receiving. The environment is laid back but professional, focused on accuracy, organization, and maintaining a comfortable, controlled workspace where you can wear one AirPod while working.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
