Summary This position functions as an Administrative Officer (AO) for Major Projects at the VA St. Louis Healthcare System (VASTLHCS). The primary purpose of the position is to support the service and represent the Chief in all administrative matters. The work involves the coordination of MPS administrative duties both within the service across its two division locations as well as with key personnel in other service lines. Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provides for the overall administrative management of Major Projects. Recognizes and identifies problem areas, formulates methods and procedures for the successful accomplishment of assignments. to include interactions with Clinical Services, Construction Engineers, Logistics, Contracting, and Fiscal. Serves as the principal advisor to service personnel on administrative management program issues. Prepares and reviews reports involving trend analyses and ensures follow-up in these areas for the assigned programs. Prepares and analyzes data and makes recommendations for improvement and addresses any discrepancies. Ensures inquiries, correspondence, and actions are addressed in a timely fashion following established templates, suspense timelines, or other processes as appropriate. Reviews, submits, and maintains personnel action requests, awards, promotions, and supervisors' disciplinary action documentation. Coordinates all facets of procurement activities associated with MPS. Manages and monitors procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment for Major Projects. Provides Service administrative orientation and training, and assures appropriate documentation is completed and filed in the employee's competency folder.
