Job description

-Oversee the assessment and management of manufacturing equipment, utilities and auxiliary systems to improve safety, quality, operational efficiency and capacity of the factory.
-Manufacturing Equipment includes but is not limited to: textile lines, resistance and induction heating systems, high temperature furnaces, robotic part manipulation and processing, cranes, spray application and riveting equipment.
-Utilities include but are not limited to: electric power and power distribution, boilers, cooling towers, chiller systems, vacuum systems, thermal oxidizers, wastewater treatment systems, water supply, natural gas supply, propane supply, nitrogen supply, compressed air network, heat exchangers, scrubbing systems, filtration systems, etc.
-Support Facilities Department in areas including but not limited to: buildings, HVAC systems, fire protection and general support networks.
-Lead design and top level support of all production equipment, utilities, and treatment systems at the Walton site. Includes working to ensure production equipment is available when needed, equipment life cycle analysis, equipment health assessments, equipment replacement plans, supporting maintenance. Be the last go-to person before equipment OEM support is required to resolve issues.
-Working closely with the Capital Project Team to plan and execute critical factory investments. This will include responsibilities for development of concepts, justifications, Scope of Work creation, purchasing and vendor activities, installation and commissioning. You may support the Capital Projects Team or lead projects on your own.
-Requires strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, control and chemical systems.
-Special emphasis on taking the oversite for plant power / electrical systems, on medium (13kV) and low voltage systems, including but not limited to:
o Electrical feeds into the facility from onsite substation, working with electric provider as needed,
o Electrical distribution in the four main electric rooms, to and from Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and associated end users.
o Power switches / fusing, back-up power systems,
o Ensure all electrical systems and associated work adheres to National Electric Code (NEC) standards,
o Ensure all electrical cabinets have current arc flash labeling,
o Support to foster safety culture by adhering to all electric safety practices,
o Manage power curtailments with electric provider,
o Support to emergency procedures,
o Ensure all electrical documentation is current / correct and updated when changes are made.

Candidate skills & requirements
Design or redesign of systems as needed to increase performance.
Familiarity with DCS and PLC control systems.
Support and/or manage capital projects in conjunction with other engineers, maintenance, and operations personnel, including but not limited to equipment replacements, equipment modifications, temporary installations, equipment cleaning, etc. Can range from $5k to $5M.
Support of maintenance activities with extensive technical issues or problems that require engineering support.
Use problem solving techniques to identify root causes and apply corrective actions that will lead to continuous reliability improvements.
Has the responsibility for establishing long-term plans for all manufacturing equipment and associated utility systems to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), reduce energy consumptions, lower operating costs, including but not limited to equipment replacement plans, leading associated capital projects for equipment installations, equipment and process modifications, and of for the associated
Support to ensure accurate technical process descriptions, PFDs, P&IDs, PMs (preventative and predictive), SOPs, spares list, 5S, etc. to ensure consistent plant operations.
Audit support to ensure compliance to insurance and other regulating authorities.
Oversite of the treatment program.
Perform other related duties as required.
BA/BS degree required. Electrical Engineering degree and advanced studies/degree preferred. Mechanical, Chemical or other related Engineering degree will be considered with 8+ years of industrial electrical and controls experience.
Substantial technical / leadership experience in related activities.
