The ICRST First Line Financial Crimes team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Value Co-Creation (VCC) team. VCC is a collaborative way of working that brings together Business, Product, and Technology partners throughout the product lifecycle to identify dependencies, make decisions, and deliver outcomes faster.
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building scalable, end-to-end solutions across multiple technology domains. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to translate business objectives into robust technical solutions, while helping drive execution across complex initiatives. This role requires strong technical depth, ownership, and the ability to navigate dependencies, risks, and evolving requirements.
Responsibilities
Partner with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to define, prioritize, and deliver scalable backend solutions aligned with enterprise goals.
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Java and related technologies.
Drive end-to-end ownership of services from design and development to deployment and production support.
Lead technical design discussions, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
Build and enhance REST and GraphQL APIs to support enterprise use cases.
Work with data-intensive systems, enabling efficient data processing and querying.
Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance, fostering strong engineering practices.
Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
Establish and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and CI/CD practices.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure system stability and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to drive alignment and execution.
Leverage GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted development platforms) to improve productivity, code quality, and documentation.
Contribute to AI-driven engineering practices and automation-first development workflows.
Work with enterprise technology teams to standardize approaches and resolve complex technical challenges.
Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years of proven experience using Java, React, Vert.x, Spring, Spark, Postgres, Ignite, Restful APIs, Redis, Kafka.
Strong hands-on experience in Java backend development.
Expertise in building REST APIs and GraphQL services.
Experience with reactive programming frameworks (e.g., Vert.x).
Experience working with large-scale data systems and Big Data querying.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Proven experience building scalable, high-performance, and highly available systems.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
Familiarity with GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and AI-assisted development workflows.
Strong knowledge of software design principles, system design, and backend best practices.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Strong problem-solving and technical leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience working in distributed/global team environments.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
