Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

The Quality Technician supports daily production by performing visual inspections, pre-operational checks, and quality control activities across the manufacturing plant. This role focuses on ensuring that products, packaging, and equipment meet established quality and cleanliness standards. You will move between different areas of the facility, perform routine checks, and accurately document your findings while working closely with production teams.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-operational inspections on production lines to verify cleanliness of equipment and surrounding areas.

Complete all required pre-operational documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Perform visual analysis of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished products at the manufacturing site.

Conduct metal detector checks according to established procedures and document results.

Monitor code dates on products to ensure proper and accurate dates are used.

Inspect packaging and labeling to identify and report any quality issues or discrepancies.

Perform housekeeping checks to help maintain a clean and organized production environment.

Carry out daily on-line inspections, including packing accuracy checks and product quality assessments.

Conduct visual inspections for product attributes such as color and overall appearance.

Walk through different areas of the plant to monitor production lines and verify adherence to quality standards.

Communicate any quality concerns or non-conformances to appropriate personnel for correction.

Follow established quality control procedures and participate in training to learn required inspection methods.

Maintain organized records of inspections, checks, and quality findings.

Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance quality and efficiency.

Essential Skills

Strong attention to detail to identify quality issues in products, packaging, and labeling.

Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and multiple inspection tasks.

Ability to perform visual inspections accurately and consistently.

Ability to walk and move around the plant for extended periods while conducting inspections.

Willingness to learn quality control and inspection procedures on the job.

Basic understanding of production or manufacturing environments (can be developed through training).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

No degree required.

No prior quality required; training will be provided.

Interest in production, inspection, quality control, and quality inspection activities.

Comfort working with strong smells in a food manufacturing environment (such as seasonings and pancake mixes).

Work Environment

This role is based in a seasonings and pancake mixes manufacturing plant with noticeable and strong food-related smells. You will spend much of the day walking and moving around different areas of the facility to perform inspections and checks. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with half days on Fridays starting around 6:30 a.m., depending on operational needs. The environment is production-focused and active, with frequent interaction with equipment, packaging lines, and various production areas.

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $37440.00/yr.
