Summary This position functions as a Painter within the Maintenance and Repair and/or Projects Section, Facility Management Division for the Harry S. Truman Memorial Hospital, Columbia MO. Responsibilities Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Interior and exterior painting or coating of all @types of building surfaces, including wood, concrete, wallboard, metal, plaster, ceilings, and painting signs Drywall finishing, smooth out cracks and seams Prepare surfaces for all @types of finishes Prepare and finish shelving, cabinet, and furniture Install and repair wall coverings Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Position Description Title/PD#: Painter/PD10469A Physical Requirements: Incumbent may be subject to occasional noise, skin irritations, cuts, bruises and the possibility of broken bones. The work performed requires continuous walking when making inspections in the various buildings. When occasionally performing painting tasks, moderate effort is expended. Employee may work in an area with unpleasant fumes and thus a respirator is required to prevent injury or illness due to fumes and dust. Must work on ladders and scaffolds. Work is performed inside, outside or both.
