Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Job Description
The Warehouse Supervisor leads and supports warehouse associates to ensure high levels of productivity, accuracy, and safety. This role oversees daily warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control, while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory guidelines. The Warehouse Supervisor monitors workflow, optimizes processes, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, improve efficiency, and maintain a clean, organized, and well-controlled warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and support warehouse associates to achieve productivity, quality, and accuracy goals.
Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
Monitor workflow throughout the shift and adjust staffing, task assignments, or processes to meet deadlines and operational targets.
Ensure all inventory is stored, labeled, and tracked accurately within the warehouse management system (WMS).
Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Coordinate with logistics, production, and purchasing teams to resolve order issues, shipment delays, or inventory discrepancies.
Enforce company policies, safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality standards on the warehouse floor.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational errors and waste.
Prepare daily and weekly reports on productivity, inventory accuracy, and team performance for leadership review.
Support shipping and receiving activities, including verification of incoming and outgoing shipments as needed.
Oversee proper use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other material handling tools, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Essential Skills
Proven ability to supervise and support warehouse or general labor teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
Ability to work effectively with a warehouse management system (WMS) for accurate inventory tracking and labeling.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and documentation requirements.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during the shift.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to OSHA and company safety standards.
Ability and willingness to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
Solid communication skills to coordinate with logistics, production, and purchasing teams.
Basic mechanical aptitude to support general production and machine operation as needed.
Familiarity with forklift operation and general warehouse equipment use.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food manufacturing or production is preferred.
Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a strong plus.
Experience in warehouse management, warehouse inventory, and warehouse operation is beneficial.
Experience with general labor, general production, and machine operation in an industrial environment.
CDL experience or exposure to transportation and logistics is advantageous.
Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.
Forklift experience and comfort working in shipping and receiving operations.
Familiarity with handling food products in a clean, controlled facility.
Bilingual language skills are preferred and helpful for communicating with diverse teams.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, modern food manufacturing facility designed to meet high standards of hygiene and quality. You will work in a temperature-controlled environment handling food products in accordance with GMP and safety guidelines. The warehouse operates multiple shifts, including a first shift and additional shifts such as 2:00 PM-10:00 PM and 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, Monday through Saturday, offering substantial overtime opportunities. The environment involves active warehouse work, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating or working around forklifts and other material handling equipment. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety and OSHA standards, providing a structured and well-maintained workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
