Our client, a leading organization in the automotive and manufacturing industry, is seeking a Equipment Engineer to join their team. As a Equipment Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the vehicle service and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Equipment Engineer - Service

Location: Hayward, CA

Pay Range: $65/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

Develop and implement automotive assembly equipment and tools

Identify tooling and equipment design opportunities by collaborating with cross-functional teams on process improvements

Evaluate part and assembly designs for manufacturability, ergonomics, and maintenance feasibility

Lead hands-on design and prototyping of equipment using CAD tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD

Manage manufacturing partners and work with equipment suppliers to resolve ergonomic and assembly issues

What's Needed?

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience

2 to 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a similar role within product design and manufacturing environments

Experience with developing automation specifications, tooling, fixtures, and industrial manipulators

Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SAP is a plus

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and present cost analysis of new processes and equipment
