Heavy Equipment Operator

C&C Disposal is a locally owned waste management and recycling company located in Pueblo, CO. We have been in the business for 20+ years and are looking to add new members to our team.

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm

Ability to work Saturdays (required)

1-year experience operating various sizes of excavators and loaders

1-year demonstrated experience operating 744k Loader

1-year demonstrated experience operating 225 Excavator & larger.

Ability to pass operator test administered by company personnel (owner/operator and/or operations manager)

Ability to work in inclement weather (e.g., very hot/very cold)

Ability to work independently and in team environment.

Strong communication skills.

Physically fit to include getting in/out of equipment numerous times, climbing steps, sitting for extended periods, standing/bending/walking/pushing/pulling/lifting.

Ability to push, pull, lift up to 75 lbs.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screen required (includes marijuana). This position falls under a quarterly random drug/alcohol screening program.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Attendance - This is an essential business-the expectation is to arrive every day on time and ready to work as scheduled. Absentees and tardies are constantly reviewed, excess of either may lead to termination of employment with company.

Pre/Post checks daily - complete Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) to include maintenance, safety, tires and fluids.

Fuel up equipment with diesel as needed from fuel truck in the yard.

Loader operator - responsible for loading the transport trucks with waste from the dump pile to be transferred to the Midway Landfill and will also push the waste to allow more space in the dump area.

Excavator operator - responsible for turning and moving waste to prevent fire in the pit and assist loading operator as needed. Crushing waste to maximize transport loads.

Observe the dump area, yard, and gate areas -ensure customers are adhering to safety and company rules in the yard and pit area.

Communicate via radio- issues/concerns in the yard and dump area regarding all customers/drivers, e.g. company/commercial, private, and public to dispatch throughout shift.

Communicate via radio - with one another throughout shift.

Communicate and report all damages and issues to the dispatch manager immediately.

Assist with putting out a hot load.

End of shift - turn off the master power switch (battery cut off) to avoid the possibility of electrical shorts/fires.

Ability to work in inclement weather (very hot/very cold).

Assist with picking up parts as directed by owner(s) and operations manager.

Cellphone usage is prohibited while on shift, may use phone on breaks/lunches.

Salvaging and scavenging are prohibited.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
