Business Development Specialist - Buildings and Facilities

Position summary: JMT is searching for a results-oriented Business Development Specialist to help grow our Buildings and Facilities business line focused on multidisciplinary services of architecture, interiors, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structures, construction management, site design, and other JMT solutions. The selected candidate will assist with driving new business to the company through relationship-building, creativity, and strategic thinking.

Essential functions and responsibilities

Drive new business by building relationships not only with outside customers but within the company.

Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, networking, and outreach.

Work with the team to implement effective campaigns that market our solutions and services.

Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities.

Track Business Development Opportunities using CRM software.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.

Conduct presentations, pitches, and proposals to potential clients.

Execute and participate in operations for conferences, events, etc.

Track and report on business development activities, performance, and results.

Required Skills

Must be results-oriented

Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with other teams in their organization and create strong business relationships with external partners

Work independently with minimal supervision, but also work well in a team environment

Must have strong analytical skills and be well organized

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Architecture, or Engineering.

Experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry

10+ years of related experience

Comprehensive knowledge of the firm's practice areas, clients, and competition

Knowledgeable of the RFP structure and proposal process

Preferred Experience

Experience in business development preferred

Professional license preferred but not required

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Travel throughout the state for meetings and out of state for events are also required.
