Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a collaborative team in Louisiana in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist with strong experience who communicates effectively, works well across departments, and brings a proactive approach to financial operations. The position will support day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely reporting and month-end close efforts.

Responsibilities:

Build and refine accounting processes that support accurate financial tracking, including the setup and maintenance of account structures and standard procedures.

Review daily financial activity, assign transactions appropriately, and post entries with a high degree of accuracy.

Reconcile account balances and investigate discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.

Oversee the general ledger and keep records current, complete, and properly organized.

Prepare and preserve supporting documentation so historical financial information is easy to access and audit-ready.

Produce financial statements and other reports by compiling, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information.

Generate customer invoices, monitor incoming payments, and record deposits in a timely manner.

Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and bank reconciliations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

At least 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping-related roles.

Hands-on experience with accounting software, including QuickBooks.

Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation.

Experience supporting month-end close and completing bank reconciliations.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills with a team-oriented work style.

High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
