The Accountant 1/2/3/4 will perform professional accounting work in the Financial Reporting & Control Unit of the Fiscal Division. The position requires a thorough understanding of the state accounting system and the structure and funding of the agency.
TheOffice of Management and Finance (OMF)oversees the agency's fiscal operations, budgeting, procurement and contracts, human resources, and other key administrative functions. We provide the internal support and oversight needed to ensure efficient, accountable, and transparent agency operations. OMF does not deliver direct services to the public.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Details:
Monitors grant expenditures and revenues for compliance with federal rules, resolves discrepancies, and prepares CMIA-compliant revenue requests in coordination with program staff.
Analyzes financial data, including spending trends, projections, and budget status; leads monthly meetings with leadership to review variances and update forecasts.
Serves as financial SME for federal grants, ensuring regulatory compliance; prepares recurring financial reports and supports audits by providing required documentation.
Prepares mandated financial reports (e.g., annual and accounts receivable reports) in compliance with state/federal standards, including GASB requirements, and assists in resolving audit issues.
Works with fiscal leadership to establish reporting structures for new programs and provides technical financial analysis and support for management initiatives.
