Adjunct Instructor, Liberal Arts - WVU Potomac State College (Keyser)

Description West Virginia University's Potomac State College campus in Keyser, West Virginia, is seeking to develop a pool of qualified adjunct instructors to fill part-time teaching opportunities as they become available. The college invites applications for part-time adjunct positions to teach Liberal Arts related courses in person and/or online. Potential areas of need include art history, child development and family studies, communication studies, English, media studies, political science, psychology, social work, and sociology.

Qualifications

A minimum of a master's degree in the course content area from a regionally accredited college or university is required by time of appointment OR a master's degree in a related field and 18 credit hours in the course content area and/or work experience in the field Previous college teaching experience is valued. APPQMR certification or equivalent is required for online teaching. Successful candidates should demonstrate: A student-centered commitment to high academic standards A commitment to collegiality with peers and building a welcoming community; An understanding and commitment to utilizing innovative teaching methodologies and systems which actively engage students in the learning process;

An understanding and commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
