This role involves close collaboration with students, faculty, and campus resources to promote student success.## Job Duties- Provide comprehensive academic advising services to new, transfer, and first-semester students, supporting exploration of academic and career goals and addressing non-academic barriers to student success.- Assist with onboarding transfer students by reviewing goals, available resources, and course selection to support successful integration into the college community.- Address academic inquiries in accordance with institutional policies and serve as a resource for returning stop-out students by providing information on educational options, requirements, and institutional resources.- Participate in professional development activities related to academic advising, transfer, and credit for prior learning, as designated by the Director.- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of student records in compliance with FERPA and develop individualized advising plans in both physical and digital formats.- Engage Level III team members, in the absence of the Director, for support and serve as a liaison with Academic Deans and faculty as designated.- Build collaborative relationships with faculty, student support programs, and other college offices through clear and effective communication.- Demonstrate professionalism when working with diverse populations and provide exceptional customer service, assisting students with problem resolution and exercising sound judgment.- Perform additional duties as assigned.## Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2-4 years of experience- Ability to guide students through academic planning and institutional processes while explaining requirements, policies, and next steps toward educational goals- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex academic information clearly to students, faculty, staff, and external partners- Commitment to student success through proactive advising, timely follow-up, and effective communication- Ability to provide advising through multiple formats including individual meetings, group sessions, and outreach initiatives- Maintain accurate advising documentation and notes in institutional systems using established procedures- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently in fast-paced environments- Ability to engage and support students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)## Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree or equivalent with 3-4 years of experience- Experience in student-facing roles in higher education, preferably within a community college s
