Job Title: Picker

Job Description

As a Picker, you will operate a pallet jack to efficiently move materials and finished goods within the warehouse and production floor. Your role involves pulling materials using work orders, delivering them to machines, staging completed pallets for shipping, and returning unused materials to inventory locations. You will ensure inventory accuracy by verifying codes, lot numbers, expiration dates, and quantities, and record inventory movements in the system.

Responsibilities

Operate pallet jack to move materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production floor.

Pull materials using work orders and deliver them to machines.

Stage completed pallets for shipping and return unused materials to inventory locations.

Ensure inventory accuracy by verifying codes, lot numbers, expiration dates, and quantities.

Record inventory movements in system.

Pack food products on assembly line.

Label packages with weight and product information.

Pull defective products.

Stock workstation with materials.

Collect materials using work orders.

Deliver materials to machines.

Move finished goods pallets to staging/shipping.

Return unused materials to warehouse.

Document inventory movements.

Essential Skills

Experience with sitdown, stand up, and order picking.

Proficiency in using pallet jacks and electric pallet jack.

Ability to pick and verify lot codes, expiry dates, and quantities.

Skill in RF scanner and RF scan gun operations.

Knowledge of inventory and material handling.

Experience in packing and production.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma.

Valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license.

1-2 years of forklift or warehouse manufacturing experience preferred.

Ability to stand for 8-10+ hour shifts.

Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The position is for the 3rd shift from 1:30 AM to 10 AM, Monday to Friday, in a warehouse and food manufacturing setting. The role involves forklift-driven material movement and operates in moderate noise and temperature conditions. It is a physically active and fast-paced environment where standing, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Totowa, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
