Summary You will serve as an ACADEMIC COORDINATOR (OA). The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) is a multi-mission graduate-level Professional Military Education (PME) institution serving the Nation, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Navy, of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE, NEWPORT, RI Responsibilities You will serve as an Academic Coordinator in one of three NWC nonresident academic programs in the College of Distance Education (CDE); Fleet Seminar Program (FSP), Graduate Degree Program (GDP) or Naval Command and Staff Online (NCS) Program. You will coordinate the administrative activities required to matriculate students through an NWC nonresident academic program from registration through program completion. You will process applications through the Student Information System (SIS), admitting and registering those that meet program eligibility criteria. You will carefully monitor student enrollments to correctly adjust waitlist priority and avoid gaps or unnecessary delays in program completion. You will perform advanced administrative actions with the college's SIS and Learning Management System(LMS) platforms and use administrative software such as the Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat to create and revise administrative documents and Reports per the Navy Correspondence Manual (SECNAVINST 5215.Series). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS 07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing administrative support functions associated with planning, coordinating, organizing, and management of an academic program; 2) Providing academic program support such as evaluating transcripts, transfer credits, and eligibility documentation for accuracy and compliance with program or accreditation standards; and 3) Maintaining, updating, or analyzing student information in a Student Information System or similar database to ensure accurate records, generate reports, and support enrollment and graduation processes.
