Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Director, Systems for Tactical Real-Time Information Exchange (STRIX) responsible for providing leadership through ongoing business direction, strategy implementation and profit and loss management.
The STRIX Business Area Director will be responsible for the execution of multiple programs in the Battle Management Command & Control and Networking business within Collins Mission Systems, including the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) Design Agent/Engineering Services, CEC Production, Antenna Development, CEC Sustainment contracts, and Withheld contracts. This includes responsibility for technical, schedule, and cost performance of all hardware, software, systems and CDRL deliverables. The STRIX Director will lead the Program Management Office which includes Program Managers across the various contracts, and functional support teams required for the complete execution of contracts.
This is an Onsite role at our St. Petersburg, FL facility.
What You Will Do:
Acting as the voice of the customer to assure customer satisfaction with respect to cost, product quality, delivery, and performance.
Provides leadership and direction to achieve the overall business strategy, associated financial goals and business growth.
Accountable for P&L and overall portfolio lifecycle including all programs within the portfolio (cradle to grave). Ensures coordination across all functions in support of lifecycle strategy and goals.
Establish and managing strategic partnerships within the company and throughout industry
Assigns established objectives to leadership team to assure attainment of technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
Provides through direct reports an effective communication system in order that customer requirements and program objectives are clearly understood and properly coordinated with all functional departments involved in the performance of the contracted task.
Guides and directs the effective performance of programs from development to delivery by coordinating participating functions, such as contracts, engineering, operations, supply chain, finance and human resources.
Assures that program plans are established and subsequently implemented; in this regard, guide and direct program managers with establishing and communicating major program milestones consistent with the detailed requirements of each program.
Assures compliance with the RTX Code of Conduct by communicating the provisions of the code and monitoring the performance of subordinates regarding their understanding of their responsibilities and obligations under the Code of Conduct and related RTX policies.
Provides leadership and facilitates the accomplishment of RTX Objectives by ensuring support systems and practices are in place to provide all employees the opportunity to contribute to their full potential, by identifying and eliminating the obstacles and barriers, which prevent this from occurring.
Domestic/International travel required.
Acts as site lead for St Petersburg, FL facility.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Must have 14 years broad-based experience in related defense business and product/program management. Specific knowledge of products, competitors, manufacturing and support desirable.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience.
Experience in effectively working with a large, dominant customer, preferably the US Navy.
Cross-functional IPT leadership experience in a matrixed environment.
Proven track record for developing and maintaining strong and collaborative customer relationships.
Experience managing people and resources in organizations with annual budgets exceeding $100M
Experience with multiple contract @types (CPFF, CPIF, FFP, FPIF) in both development and production environments
Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management or similar business processes.
Demonstrated track record of predictable financial forecasting.
Active and transferable Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Knowledge and understanding of how to execute Autonomy programs domestically across all military Services and internationally.
Twenty (20) plus years of Program Management in the Defense Industry
Demonstrated experience as a change agent, able to energize organizations to achieve beyond expectations
Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI) Clearance
Experience in strategic development, customer interface, and capture experience in the Defense Industry
Experience with International contracts and customers including Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS)
Strong interpersonal skills with special focus on achieving active participation of appropriate individuals across the business area
Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent. Engineering, Science or Mathematics; or 10 years with MS/MA; or 8 with PhD

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
