Summary About the Position: Serves as an Administrative Support Specialist for the Joint Activities located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Only resumes up to a total of two pages will be accepted. Responsibilities Acts as the principal representative for an O-6 HQ Staff level Directorate in administrative and management direction and coordination of staff actions and projects. Coordinates staff and command actions with Command Group, Secretary Joint Staff, liaison officers with lateral and higher headquarters. Assists managers with coordinating Department of Defense civilian personnel matters relating to classification, recruitment, screening, interviewing and employee relations. Develops, plans, and schedules to meet command objectives as related to the Director/Deputy Directors and Senior Enlisted Advisors. Receives telephone calls and greets visitors assisting with routine matters or referring them to the appropriate staff member. Maintains various databases to track and report on various annual training requirements. Researches regulations and coordinates with appropriate agencies as necessary for policy and guidance. Prepares notes, letters, and memoranda for Directorate's Senior Leader signature and prepares and submits responses for personal correspondence. Provides staff assistance and training to employees and supervisors on procedural and regulatory standards. Tracks all pending travel as well as trip report submission for completed travel Prepares supplemental budget information based on personnel resource requirements. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating completed staff actions including memos, reports, studies, fact sheets, information papers for overall quality of document; reviewing all travel vouchers prior to submission to Resource Management and providing input to monthly reconciliation of travel cost; and processing information for in and out-processing as well as status to managers regarding military and civilian recruitment actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
