Summary You will serve as a Combined Trades Supervisor II in the Coatings and Coverings Shop (Code 970), Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will serve as a second-level supervisor, exercising full technical and operational authority over a multi-trade workforce. You will be the senior onsite authority responsible for planning, directing, integrating, and executing complex, multi-trade work essential to submarine and ship overhaul, repair, and modernization. You will have a master-level of practical knowledge of multiple trades used to direct the work of subordinate supervisors and their crews to meet critical project milestones. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Lead Or Supervise Experience planning, directing, and coordinating the work of subordinate supervisors. Experience resolving complex technical problems and integration of conflicts. Experience developing and executing short- and long-range work plans. Experience determining resources, materials, equipment, and skilled personnel required to accomplish work. Experience applying knowledge of technical, nuclear, quality, and safety programs and requirements.
