Job Title: C4ISR / C5ISR Systems Integration Engineer - DoD Ground Vehicle Platforms
Job Description
This role provides hands-on engineering and project management support to Department of Defense program offices responsible for developing, integrating, and fielding C4ISR/C5ISR technologies on Army and Marine Corps ground vehicle platforms. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor and Government representative, ensuring that vehicle platform offices and C5ISR system offices remain synchronized on schedules, architectures, costs, and network integration activities. This position offers the opportunity to shape current and future networked vehicle capabilities in a highly visible, mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering and project management support to DoD program offices overseeing development, integration, and fielding of C4ISR/C5ISR technologies on military ground vehicle platforms.
Support both vehicle platform offices and C5ISR system offices, ensuring alignment of schedules, system architectures, costs, and network integration activities across Army and Marine Corps programs.
Serve as a technical advisor and Government representative, coordinating across multiple DoD organizations to enable successful end-to-end integration of communications and network capabilities.
Support DoD Program Management Offices in evaluating and synchronizing acquisition schedules, integration costs, and requirements for Army and/or USMC networked vehicle systems.
Develop and propose high-level system architectures and implementation strategies for integrating C5ISR systems onto ground vehicle platforms.
Author Statements of Work (SoW) that define vehicle system integration efforts and oversee contractor execution on behalf of the Government.
Manage and adjudicate programmatic and technical issues for ground vehicle program offices, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication to stakeholders.
Represent the Government customer while coordinating with external organizations including PEOs/PMs, ASN(RDA), MCTSSA, CD&I, ATEC, TCMs, and other DoD stakeholders.
Support end-to-end integration of communications networks, including interoperability testing, certification, safety confirmation, kit procurement, and logistics integration activities.
Develop and synchronize future network architectures with PM offices supporting upcoming capability sets and modernization efforts.
Prepare and present recurring program status briefings to Project Manager Offices and Program Executive Offices.
Perform project management duties such as schedule tracking, risk identification, and development of technical and programmatic documentation.
Establish and facilitate a standardized approach to Cybersecurity certification for vehicle-mounted systems to reduce information assurance certification and testing burden.
Serve as a technical advisor for integration of current and emerging DoD communications and network technologies onto ground vehicle platforms.
Provide oversight of contractor development of vehicle networks and support integration of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) into vehicle architectures.
Essential Skills
C5ISR / C4ISR systems integration experience on DoD ground vehicle platforms.
Demonstrated experience in network architecture development for DoD or similar complex systems.
Systems engineering support experience for Program Management Offices (PMOs).
Hands-on experience authoring and managing Statements of Work (SoW) for technical integration efforts.
Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and program office environments.
Approximately 8 years of experience engineering networked systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Experience with project management in support of technical programs, including schedule and deliverable management.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project for documentation, analysis, and reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to lead and contribute technically within cross-functional teams.
Ability to operate as a self-starter and work independently in a Government customer environment.
High customer-service orientation in a mission-critical setting.
Experience working with operational users and formal DoD requirements documentation.
Knowledge of cybersecurity and information assurance concepts as they relate to vehicle-mounted systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with vetronics and in-vehicle data networks.
Prior work experience with Army or USMC PEOs / PMOs.
Cybersecurity certification and information assurance support experience for vehicle platforms.
Experience with DoD communications equipment and associated integration activities.
Exposure to interoperability testing and certification processes for networks and systems.
Experience supporting end-to-end integration activities including safety confirmation, kit procurement, and logistics integration.
Ability to navigate competing programmatic priorities while maintaining alignment with mission objectives.
Work Environment
This position is 100% on-site at a Government vehicle technology customer location, providing direct, daily interaction with Government stakeholders in a high-visibility role. You will work in a collaborative program office environment that emphasizes close coordination with multiple DoD organizations, contractors, and operational users. The role involves approximately 10% travel to customer sites, contractor facilities, and test centers to support integration events, testing, and reviews. The environment is mission-focused and fast-paced, with access to modern office productivity tools and exposure to advanced C4ISR/C5ISR, vetronics, and vehicle network technologies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling Heights, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $77.00/hr.
