Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsiblities
As Deputy Director, you will assist the Director in providing overall management and leadership for the Stockpile Experimentation and Operations (SEO) Programs team.
Key Responsibilities
Acts for the Director, assuming all roles and responsibilities during their absence.
Participates in planning and developing Program strategies, implementation plans, and FYNSP budgets.
Actively tracks and reports program/project execution and coordinates with program managers to ensure customer and NNSS leadership expectations met.
Interacts with all levels of management, both within and outside the organization.
Interacts continuously with internal management concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications.
Leads briefings and technical meetings for internal representatives.
Coordinates multiple projects or a large function with significant responsibility for staff, material, budgets, and/or capital resources that may have an impact to mission or financial success of the Company.
Represents the MSTS Leadership Team on NNSA executive teams and working groups.
Creates an environment where employees feel safe to raise issues, empowered to address issues, and supported to resolve issues.
Demonstrates environment, safety, health, and quality leadership and consistently enforces environment, safety, health, and quality policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 17 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
Must have an active Q or equivalent clearance and ability to maintain an SCI clearance
Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting National Nuclear Security Administration research/development, weapons or technology programs.
NNSA NA-10/Department of War/Defense Headquarters engagement experience strongly preferred.
Experience leading programs or program portfolios more than $100M annually.
Experience in deployment of program management and system engineering processes.
Technical knowledge of NA-10 missions to enable guiding program development and execution strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to achieve operational excellence, set expectations and monitor de legated activities to closure, especially with ambiguity and conflicting priorities.
Experience leading the development of new program opportunities, including the definition, development, and preparation of proposals.
Experience in recruiting and mentoring teams and assessing the performance and facilitating the technical execution of programmatic deliverables.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
Occasional travel required (less than 25%).
Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Must possess a valid driver's license.MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
