Duties Description Under the direction of the Park Managers the night watch security guard will be responsible for protecting the property, buildings, and site during overnight hours. Duties include but are not limited to: - Patrolling the grounds.- Securing the park gates and buildings.- Responding to any incidents that occur.- Enforcing rules and regulations to maintain order on the property. - Maintaining logs and documentation of any incidents or unusual activity that occurs. - Assist with evacuations or other emergency procedures as needed. - Coordinate with Park Police and other site staff to ensure the safety and security of the visitors and properties.

Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.

Additional Comments Operational Needs: - Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.- Ability to walk and stand for an undetermined amount of time - Must possess or obtain a NYS Security Guard License.- Candidate must have the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner.- Must be able to communicate orally with other staff and park patrons; and to communicate in writing and read and comprehend written material.- This position requires the candidate to be available evenings, weekends, and holidays.- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.- Must be willing to keep current on all mandated safety trainings including First Aid and CPR/AED.BENEFITS: This position has the option to join the NYS Employee's Retirement System and may be eligible for health insurance, dental and vision coverage as well as the opportunity for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, personal and holiday leave after time and service requirements has been met.
