ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environmental Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA. Responsibilities You will direct, oversee, and participate in designing training and developing curriculum. You will use, direct, and evaluate support contracts as necessary to implement and maintain viable, installation-wide environmental training. You will be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Base system for managing environmental regulatory requirements. You will apply and interpret federal and state environmental protection laws and regulations. You will prepare staff papers and briefs for, and deliver briefs to installation general staff, senior leadership, and tenant activity officials. You will plan, prioritize, and manage budgets. You will provide technical and administrative oversight of environmental projects and contracts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Directing and evaluating support contracts, developing employee environmental training programs, applying and interpreting laws and regulations in relation to environmental training, planning and managing budgets, and preparing briefs, papers, and official correspondence.
