Entry-Level Help Desk Technician - Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Help Desk Technician to provide frontline technical support to end users. This role is ideal for someone with 1+ years of help desk or IT support experience who is eager to grow their technical skills while delivering excellent customer service. A positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential, as this role involves frequent interaction with end users.

Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support to end users, assisting with basic hardware, software, and access issues.

Troubleshoot common IT problems and resolve incidents or service requests in a timely manner.

Log, track, and document support requests using a ticketing system, ensuring accurate and complete information.

Communicate clearly with end users to understand technical issues and provide status updates.

Escalate more complex issues to IT staff or specialized teams as needed.

Support users onsite at local Vermont locations when required.

Follow documented processes and procedures while learning new systems and tools.

Required Skills & Experience

1+ years of experience in a Help Desk, Service Desk, or IT support role

Experience working with a ticketing system.

Basic troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

this role is primarily remote, may require 1 day a month onsite but we've had individuals on the team remain remote depending on location

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Burlington, VT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
