Summary This position is assigned to the Fiscal Service at the Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Medical Center located in Decatur, Georgia. The incumbent will utilize the Decision Support System (DDS) which is an executive computer information system. The DDS which directly impacts the management of patient care and supports the mission of the Network by providing data on patterns of care, patient outcomes, and resource consumption. Responsibilities Analyzes audits, and evaluates on qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or orations meeting established goals and objectives. Works directly with clinical and administrative managers, in order to build and maintain appropriate Account Level Budgeter (ALB) and/or Department Cost Manager (DCM) structures. Communicates with services in order to solve problems, coordinate training and exchange information as necessary. Identify areas in need of review and advise management of the implications and options involved. Creates databases that support benchmarking of data including financial data, patient populations and workload. Conducts process improvement projects to identify gaps in coding and clinic operational processes to provide solutions. Oversees the logistics of revenue and fee basis initiatives from the conceptual through the implementation stage, including thorough analysis following implementation of initiatives Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
