Job Title: Electrical Systems Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Systems Engineer will support the integration of complex electronic and electrical systems into military aircraft, including communications, navigation, satellite, GPS, RF, weapon systems, and other mission systems. This role leads electrical systems design and aircraft integration activities, performs required testing, and ensures compliance with customer requirements and technical specifications. The position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performing aircraft systems.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and integration of electrical and electronic systems into military aircraft, including communications, navigation, satellite, GPS, RF, weapon systems, and other mission systems and equipment.
Interpret and apply customer Statements of Work (SOW), system specifications, manuals, and related documents to determine the implementation and integration of electrical system interfaces.
Perform systems integration activities, including defining and calculating requirements for electrical systems, power distribution, and electrical interface requirements for aircraft applications.
Develop and review electrical system architectures and interface control documentation to ensure compatibility and proper integration with existing aircraft systems.
Support and oversee aircraft integration testing, including functional, performance, and interface tests, to validate system requirements and ensure proper operation.
Analyze and address Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Vulnerability (EMV) interactions and effects on aircraft systems, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Use engineering tools such as SolidWorks and Creo 3D to support the design, modeling, and documentation of electrical systems and components.
Prepare clear and comprehensive technical documents, including reports, specifications, test procedures, and test results, as required by the project.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other engineers and project stakeholders, to resolve technical issues and support program objectives.
Apply strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve electrical system problems identified during design, integration, and testing.
Utilize standard office and engineering software tools, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, to support analysis, documentation, and presentations.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide technical updates, clarify requirements, and support project milestones.
Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and tasks in a fast-paced project environment, and support overtime work when necessary to meet deadlines.
Essential Skills
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
1 to 5 years of job-related experience working on military aircraft, preferably on H60 platforms.
Experience with electrical systems integration in aircraft, including power distribution and electrical interface requirements.
Knowledge of communications, navigation, satellite, GPS, RF, weapon systems, and other mission systems as applied to aircraft.
Familiarity with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Vulnerability (EMV) interactions and their effects on aircraft systems.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply customer Statements of Work (SOW), system specifications, manuals, and related technical documentation.
Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks and Creo 3D to support electrical systems design and integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving electrical system issues.
Ability to write clear, accurate, and detailed technical documents, including reports, specifications, and test documentation.
Good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with engineering teams and stakeholders.
Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Ability to attain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience specifically with H60 military aircraft is preferred.
Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking engineering or aviation environment.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing schedules, priorities, and project requirements.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Attention to detail in design, documentation, and testing activities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
