Pipeline Planner
At Bayer, you are at the forefront of driving research in biology, biotechnology, crop protection, and data science, enabling you to deliver tailored solutions to farmers faster than ever before; In this advanced pipeline planning role, you play a critical part in managing logistics and coordinating schedules to meet the requirements of the R&D seed product pipeline; With a strong focus on digital transformation and project management within the supply chain, you utilize your expertise in pipeline crop cycle management and agronomic knowledge to oversee the virtual tasks that facilitate nursery, processing, packaging, and field testing activities; In this position, you ensure that all logistical activities are completed on time and in full, while maintaining the integrity and quality of the data necessary to drive the advancement of the R&D pipeline.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Pipeline Planner, are to:
Develop and manage detailed digital plans and schedules that empower UNIT team members and regional seed production/testing teams to meet pipeline targets and crop cycle times, while identifying and implementing opportunities to improve pipeline health and operational efficiency;
Analyze supply chain scenarios and develop alternative solutions to address supply shortfalls impacting internal and external customer requirements, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are defined and implemented;
Solve complex planning challenges independently by applying strong financial, operational, and business judgment, effectively navigating ambiguity and changing conditions;
Maintain and continuously improve planning parameters and master data within Crop Science analytical tools and software systems to ensure data integrity and reliable decision-making;
Lead initiatives focused on digital transformation within the pipeline, including the deployment and adoption of tools such as Velocity and Experiment Assistant, and other innovative digital solutions;
Provide strategic consultation by offering insights and recommendations on shifts in plans or priorities that enhance project outcomes and overall pipeline performance;
Represent the pipeline function in the Control Tower, ensuring alignment between planning activities and operational goals, and facilitating timely issue resolution;
Facilitate crop cycle updates and engage stakeholders across functions to ensure alignment with project objectives, timelines, and resource needs;
Ensure that the Long-Range Plan (LRP) is fully connected with and reflected in the overall strategy for the crop you represent, supporting long-term portfolio and capacity planning;
Dedicate a defined portion of your time to process improvement activities that embrace and advance digital initiatives, driving standardization and efficiency across planning processes;
Define, monitor, and report on key operational metrics to track progress, and ensure that these metrics are achieved through proactive planning and operational measures.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Business, Information Technology, or a related field with a strong focus on data analytics;
Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, SQL, and Excel;
Strong analytical problem-solving and data interpretation skills, with the ability to make sound, data-driven decisions in complex and dynamic environments;
Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on process improvement, capable of working independently to drive digital and data-driven initiatives;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong influencing abilities that enable effective collaboration with diverse, cross-functional, and global teams;
High agility and adaptability in a fast-paced, matrixed organization, demonstrating resilience and flexibility in managing multiple priorities;
Demonstrated customer focus, collaboration, negotiation skills, people agility, and conflict management capabilities that support effective stakeholder engagement and alignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of professional experience in supply chain, logistics, or related fields, ideally within a Crop Science or agricultural R&D environment;
Skills and experience related to Strategic Business Planning, Long-Range Planning (LRP), Supply Chain and Logistics, Data Analytics, and Project Management in a Crop Science domain;
Experience in developing analytical models to support supply chain decision-making considered a plus.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $71,120.00 to $106,680.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
