Job Title: 2nd and 3rd Shift Quality InspectorsJob Description
This role focuses on performing detailed quality inspections on low-voltage electrical products using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. You will conduct specialized electrical tests, complete defect documentation, and help resolve quality issues while working within an ISO 9001 certified environment that emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to strict tolerances.
Responsibilities
Perform quality inspections on low-voltage electrical components and assemblies using micrometers, calipers, and visual inspection techniques.
Conduct ratio testing and high-potential (hipot) testing on low-voltage electrical systems while following established safety procedures.
Work safely around live low-voltage wires and electrical equipment, following all safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures as required.
Use the metric system to verify and maintain tight tolerances in accordance with engineering and quality specifications.
Complete all required quality paperwork accurately, including defect reports, labels, and other documentation related to nonconforming product.
Identify, document, and assist in resolving quality issues by communicating findings to appropriate team members and supporting corrective actions.
Inspect products for nonconformities inside transformers and other equipment, ensuring all quality standards are met.
Work at heights of approximately 20-30 feet using ladders and lifts, while properly tied off and using fall protection equipment.
Enter confined spaces, such as the interior of transformers, to perform inspections while using appropriate safety gear and working with spotters.
Follow ISO 9001 quality procedures and contribute to maintaining compliance with established quality management system standards.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement in inspection processes and product quality.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools, testing equipment, and documentation with care and accuracy.
Essential Skills
Minimum 6 months of quality inspector experience in a heavy industry environment.
Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience using micrometers and calipers for measurement and inspection.
Experience performing quality control or quality assurance activities in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Ability to perform precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, and the metric system for tight tolerances.
Comfort working around live low-voltage electrical systems while following strict safety protocols.
Ability to complete defect reports, labeling, and other quality documentation accurately and legibly.
Capability to perform visual inspections to identify defects and nonconforming conditions.
Ability to work safely at heights of 20-30 feet using ladders and lifts with fall protection.
Ability to work safely in confined spaces, including entering equipment such as transformers for inspection.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience working in an ISO 9001 certified environment is a plus.
Background in quality inspection, quality control, or quality assurance within electrical or heavy industry environments.
Familiarity with ratio testing and high-potential (hipot) testing is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support issue resolution and corrective actions.
Effective communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with team members.
Comfort working within structured procedures and quality management systems.
Work Environment
This is a union position based in a heavy industrial environment that involves working with low-voltage electrical equipment, transformers, and large components. The role is available on 2nd and 3rd shifts: 2nd shift hours are 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 3rd shift hours are 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday. You will regularly work around live low-voltage wires and perform inspections at heights of approximately 20-30 feet using ladders and lifts, always tied off and using appropriate fall protection. The job also requires entering confined spaces, including going inside transformers to inspect for nonconforming conditions, with spotters present and safety protocols in place at all times. The facility operates under ISO 9001 standards and uses precision measuring tools, electrical testing equipment, and structured quality documentation processes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.13 - $34.13/hr.
