As a Senior Associate in Compliance Risk Management, you will support Collections & Recovery, Customer Service and Card Lending Operations within Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) which is the firm's second line of defense. Additionally, you will provide independent oversight, assessment, and challenge of the processes, risks, and controls across CCB Operations for Collections & Recovery, Customer Service and Card Lending Operations. You will execute responsibilities under the CCOR Framework and serve as a key point of contact for operational risk and regulatory compliance matters. This role requires deep knowledge of consumer regulations and the ability to collaborate across departments to enable business success in a controlled and compliant manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrate professional experience and strong knowledge of consumer regulations (e.g. Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Act or Practices; Equal Credit Opportunity Act/ Regulation B, Regulation Z, Fair Credit Reporting Act).
Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive CCOR program to manage regulatory exposure from Collections & Recovery, Customer Service and Card Lending Operations activities; ensure robust Second Line oversight across relevant businesses and products.
Provide oversight and independent challenge of changes to business processes, risks, and controls stemming from industry, regulatory, or strategic initiatives.
Perform independent assessments of compliance and operational risks using the CCOR framework; including risk assessments, design and execute monitoring and testing routines to identify control gaps and emerging risks, and escalate as appropriate.
Review compliance policies, procedures, and bulletins to ensure alignment with regulatory obligations and Firm requirements.
Analyze compliance and operational risks to recommend process, control enhancements, and system changes.
Leverage Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and data analytics to understand business data and technology flows; analyze complex processes and develop oversight routines for monitoring, detection, and reporting.
Influence and collaborate with Business, Legal, Controls, Risk, Operations, Technology, and Model Risk teams to ensure effective CCOR guidance, control design, testing scope, and sustainable remediation plans.
Participate in independent monitoring of risk metrics, data, and review and assessment activities.
Support regulatory exam, audit, and substantive testing inquiries related to group activities.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Compliance, Operational Risk, Risk Management, Audit, Legal, or related field.
Excellent research, analytical, written, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication for diverse audiences and defend positions as needed.
Proven decision-making ability with a track record of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and pay high attention to detail and has ability to provide defendable.
Demonstrate capability to learn quickly and manage multiple demands.
Self-starter who can drive and own their own deliverables whilst continuing to collaborate with the broader team.
Utilization of data analytics, generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), and large language models (LLMs) to drive work efficiency and support CCOR priorities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable with engaging with all levels of the organization on risk and control matters.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Compliance/Operational Risk leadership experience.
Proven track record designing and executing analyses utilizing AI/ML tools, aggregating risks across products/LOBs, and driving issue management from root cause through remediation to audit ready closure.
Advanced qualifications preferred: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), or Project Management Professional (PMP); advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA) and experience engaging regulators and internal audit.
Strong data fluency to support CCOR oversight (e.g., SQL and visualization tools such as Tableau/ThoughtSpot), with ability to influence cross functional partners (Business, Legal, Controls, Risk, Operations) and present to senior stakeholders.
