This team is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Winston-Salem Seating Group. Conducts product development activities and studies, analyzes tests, and produces sketches, parts, and designs, following all appropriate Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards.
What You Will Do:
Participate in product development activities including engineering studies, feasibility studies, cost estimates, implementation of standard and non-standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.
Work toward commonality and optimization of product & components to reduce design errors and escapes.
Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects.
Develops data and makes layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
Develops and designs detail parts and assemblies for complex programs with weight, machinability/manufacturability, and assembly/servicing in mind.
Resolves design problems of simple-to-complex scope to ensure project completion.
Researches, plans, designs, and develops mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, or heat transfer for production, transmission, and use of energy.
Analyzes test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and offers solutions for improvements.
Applies lessons learned from project-to-project, to further improve product designs
Track and maintain program-specific weight & CG for parts and modules
May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a Bachelor's degree
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with 3D CAD

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
