Analyze circuits and signal flow, including performing circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, and tracing signal relationships using complex test instruments.
Use high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment to diagnose and verify system performance.
Perform aircraft bench and flight line operational testing and troubleshooting in accordance with Department of Defense, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other applicable directives.
Assemble, install, check, test, and modify wire bundles and associated components on aircraft undergoing testing, development, and modification, following all relevant technical directives.

Consult with leadership and peers to determine the most effective work processes and resolve technical or procedural issues.
Assist in training and mentoring less experienced employees, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Lead teams through more complex aircraft-related tasks when required, coordinating work to meet quality and schedule expectations.
Prioritize workload effectively to maintain project schedules and support mission requirements.
Perform all duties associated with lower-level avionics classifications as needed to successfully complete assignments.
Interpret standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, and related documentation to accomplish assigned work.
Ensure all equipment and tools are used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
Diagnose and correct malfunctions arising during assembly and installation processes.
Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to verify dimensions and ensure conformance to quality and engineering requirements.
Maintain all certifications, licenses, and permits required to perform assigned work.
Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and safely lift loads of approximately 35 pounds as part of daily duties.
Work variable shifts and alternate schedules, including potential weekends and holidays, to support mission requirements, and perform both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed.
Apply knowledge of Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag Out systems to ensure a safe working environment before accessing systems and performing tasks.
Collaborate closely with other team members, including General Mechanics, Structures, and Electrics personnel, to ensure cost and schedule targets are achieved.
Perform structural and sheet metal-related tasks associated with avionics work, including installation, structural assembly, riveting, and airframe-related fabrication as needed.
Support modification activities on C-17 or other heavy aircraft platforms, including avionics upgrades and system changes.
Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding-@type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignments when required.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance to support operational and mission needs.

Consistent, regular, and predictable attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with C-17 modification programs or similar large aircraft modification projects.
Experience working with COMSEC, radar, or other complex electronic systems on aircraft.
Familiarity with aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environments.
Experience with aircraft structural and sheet metal tasks such as installation, structural assembly, riveting, and airframe repair.
Experience in aircraft mechanic roles, including exposure to Aircraft Mechanic II-level responsibilities.
Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding-@type electric powered elevating equipment.
Successful completion of on-the-job training (OJT) or formal classroom training as a condition of assignment.
