THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the Adaptive Equipment Department by repairing, modifying, and maintaining assistive devices that help residents stay mobile and comfortable. As a Adaptive Equipment Technician, you will perform the following duties:
Material Selection:Select proper materials and choose suitable tools for building and repairing adaptive equipment
Fabrication Work:Create, shape, and assemble parts for assistive and therapeutic devices based on resident needs
Device Repair:Repair and adjust adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, braces, and other devices
Equipment Operation:Operate hand tools, power tools, and sewing machines needed for construction and repair tasks
Resident Support:Provide nursing and therapy staff with equipment required for resident care and resolve equipment issues
Inventory Management:Order supplies, maintain stock levels, and coordinate with vendors for needed equipment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week)
Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1st shift), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
Two years of experience in the fabrication, assembly, or repair of adaptive equipment.
Additional Requirement:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Experience in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of adaptive equipment
Experience constructing, assembling, and repairing powered and manual wheelchairs, scooters, mechanical beds and lifts, carts, walkers, contour chairs, body and leg braces, and other assistive and therapeutic devices
Experience adjusting and operating machines and hand and power tools
Experience in the ordering of parts, equipment, or supplies
Experience working with therapeutic devices or adaptive equipment
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
