Wesleyan's Information Technology Services (ITS) is agile, energetic, and collaborative with strong support for professional development and staff creativity. Enterprise Systems, an integral part of ITS, supports the University's Workday System. The Enterprise systems team consists of three prongs - Workday HCM/Finance, Workday Student and Advancement Systems. The Workday HCM/Finance team headed by the Assistant Director, Workday HCM/Finance is a team of four. Wesleyan is currently live on Workday HCM, Finance, and Student.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Workday HCM/Finance, this position supports Wesleyan's ecosystem of Finance Enterprise Applications.
The Analyst is responsible for supporting the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning, including business processes, reporting, integrations, and Foundation Data Model (FDM) components.
This role works closely with Finance and technical teams to implement solutions, support operations, and ensure data integrity within established standards.
Responsibilities include:
Configure and maintain Workday Financials business processes (BPs), including condition rules, notifications, and alerts.
Configure and maintain Wesleyan's Adaptive Planning instance in partnership with our Financial Planning Department.
Configure and support Financial Accounting and Foundation Data Model (FDM)/worktag structures within established design standards.
Partner with functional offices to gather requirements, understand financial processes, and implement system solutions.
Develop and support integrations using Workday APIs, EIBs, vendor APIs, and tools such as SnapLogic.
Build and maintain Workday reports and dashboards to support financial and operational needs.
Support Workday release cycles by reviewing updates, assisting with impact analysis, and participating in testing and deployment.
Troubleshoot and resolve Workday Financials issues across business processes, integrations, and reporting; escalate complex issues as needed.
Support Workday security configuration using foundational knowledge of security groups, domain security, and role-based access.
Monitor and support data integrity by validating financial data and understanding how data flows across systems and processes.
Create and maintain documentation for configurations, integrations, business processes, and financial data structures.
Support Finance operations including journal entries, adjustments, reporting, and related processes within the system.
Provide end-user support and guidance for Workday Financials functionality.
Identify opportunities for system improvements and contribute to enhancements within assigned scope.

This position is a remote position. All positions may require on campus meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field and a minimum of two years of post-production support experience with Workday Financials ;or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience configuring Workday business processes, including condition rules, notifications, or alerts.
Experience supporting Workday's Foundation Data Model (FDM), reorganization process and role assignments.
Experience developing and/or maintaining Workday Finance Integrations built using Core Connectors, EIB templates and Workday Studio.
Experience building advanced, matrix, composite Workday Finance reports or dashboards and discovery boards to support business operations.
Experience supporting Workday releases, including reviewing updates and participating in testing activities.
Ability to troubleshoot system issues across business processes, integrations, or reporting using structured problem-solving approaches.
Knowledge of financial data flows and ability to ensure data accuracy across systems.
Knowledge of foundational Workday security concepts (security groups, domain security, role-based access)
Ability to create and maintain clear technical and business process documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and functional stakeholders, including translating technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical users.
Ability to gather, clarify, and document business requirements from functional users.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work within established timelines.
Ability to work independently within defined scope and escalate appropriately when needed.
Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn and expand technical skills across Workday functional areas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using Workday Extend to build Apps and integrating with Workday platform.
Experience with Workday Prism Analytics.
Experience in Adaptive Planning.
Experience in higher education or similar complex organizations.
Workday certification in a Finance domain or technical area.
