This Manufacturing Engineer role supports the overhaul and repair of high-pressure and low-pressure turbine airfoils for commercial and defense aero-engines. You will provide full technical and product support to a dynamic production cell, developing processes, tooling, and instructions that ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Provide full technical and product support to daily operations in the overhaul and repair of P&W 4000, V2500, PW2000, and F117 turbine airfoils.
Deliver technical expertise on turbine airfoil products, including both high-pressure and low-pressure components.
Develop, optimize, and maintain process flows for repair and overhaul operations to ensure efficient, repeatable, and high-quality outcomes.
Generate clear and detailed technical work instructions for production personnel, ensuring compliance with engineering and regulatory requirements.
Design tooling and fixturing to support machining, coating, laser, and heat treatment processes used in turbine airfoil repair.
Collaborate and correspond with OEM and customer engineering teams to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.
Lead and support continuous process improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, cost reduction, and safety.
Work closely within a dedicated product cell environment, partnering with skilled technicians and operators to meet production goals and quality standards.
Apply knowledge of FAA regulations to ensure all repair and overhaul processes meet applicable regulatory requirements.
Support CNC machining, laser drilling, laser cladding, plasma spray, heat treating, coatings, and related aerospace manufacturing processes.
Contribute to problem solving within the production cell by analyzing issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
Support engine MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) activities by aligning processes with commercial engine and aerospace industry standards.
Document engineering changes, process updates, and technical communications in accordance with internal and customer requirements.
Essential Skills
Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
1-2 years of previous experience in aerospace manufacturing.
A minimum of three years of aero-engine experience, preferably in overhaul or repair of major airfoil components.
Experience in aerospace manufacturing and machining environments.
Background in MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) for commercial engines.
Hands-on experience with CNC machining operations.
Knowledge of FAA regulations relevant to aerospace manufacturing and repair.
Ability to generate clear technical work instructions and process documentation.
Experience designing tooling and fixturing for manufacturing and repair processes.
Strong problem-solving skills to support a dynamic production cell.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external engineering stakeholders.
Ability to work productively in a product cell environment with cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in overhaul or repair of turbine airfoil components for engines such as P&W 4000, V2500, PW2000, and F117.
Prior exposure or experience with laser drilling and laser cladding processes.
Experience with plasma spray coating processes.
Experience with heat treating processes in aerospace applications.
Familiarity with coatings, additive manufacturing, and 3D printing technologies.
Exposure to robotics and automated manufacturing systems.
Experience with chemical processing in an aerospace or industrial setting.
Outgoing and personable demeanor, with the ability to work closely with a dedicated team of skilled personnel.
Experience in engine MRO environments and commercial engine repair programs.
Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, cost, and throughput.
Work Environment
This position is based on site at an aerospace manufacturing and repair facility in Grand Prairie. You will work in a dedicated product cell environment alongside skilled technicians and operators focused on turbine airfoil overhaul and repair. The facility utilizes advanced manufacturing technologies including CNC machining, laser drilling, laser cladding, plasma spray, heat treating, coatings, additive manufacturing, 3D printing, robotics, and chemical processing. The role supports a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity within the aerospace and defense industry, offering a stable environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Work is performed in a professional industrial setting where appropriate safety gear and attire are required to operate around machinery and specialized equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
