The Opportunity
We are seeking a Chief Discipline Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation / Controls to lead, mentor, and evolve our Electrical and I&C engineering teams within the power generation and nuclear markets.
This principal leadership role is both strategic and hands-on, offering the opportunity to:
Set technical direction for critical infrastructure programs
Build and develop high-performing engineering teams
Influence company-wide engineering practices and standards
Partner closely with executive engineering leadership and business development
You will serve as the technical authority and people leader for the discipline, ensuring engineering excellence, efficiency, compliance, and professional growth across the organization.
What You'll DoTechnical Leadership & Discipline Excellence
Lead and continuously improve engineering work processes, tools, standards, and design methodologies
Serve as the subject matter authority for Electrical and I&C engineering across projects
Provide expert technical guidance, design reviews, and independent execution assessments
Interpret codes, standards, and permitting requirements within nuclear and power markets
People & Talent Leadership
Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams
Assess staffing needs and guide recruiting, development, and succession planning
Oversee performance management, compensation administration, and career development
Identify and coach top technical and leadership talent
Project & Business Partnership
Collaborate with Directors, Project Engineers, and Business Development on strategy and execution
Support proposals, presentations, and client engagements
Assist in project definition, design bases, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
Monitor and improve engineering cost, schedule, quality, and productivity performance
Operational Excellence
Analyze engineering practices, staffing efficiency, and cost performance
Track productivity benchmarks, lessons learned, and continuous improvement metrics
Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and company requirements
What You Bring
B.S. in Electrical Engineering (accredited four-year institution)
12+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
Experience designing nuclear and/or conventional power generation facilities
Professional Engineer (PE) license (multi-state comity preferred)
Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to engineering quality
Proven ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and influence stakeholders
Strategic mindset with a solid understanding of business and project performance metrics
Proficiency interpreting project data and tools such as P6, PRISM, PI/SPI metrics
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
U.S. Citizenship Requirement
This role requires access to nuclear facilities and regulated information. U.S. citizenship is required to meet federal security and regulatory requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $190,000 - $220,000 annually
(Final compensation is based on location, experience, education, and specialized expertise.)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cherry Hill, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
