Job Title: Electrical Designer / Project Engineer (Electrical Focus)Job Description
This role focuses on supporting engine electrical routing and harness design with a strong emphasis on hands-on troubleshooting and design implementation. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, and offshore design partners to review, refine, and implement electrical harness layouts and related components. The position is ideal for an early- to mid-career engineer who takes initiative, thinks critically, and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment. While you will perform some direct CAD design, most of your time will be dedicated to reviewing designs, marking up changes, and coordinating updates based on factory and field feedback.
Responsibilities
Support engine electrical routing and harness design, including the layout and integration of brackets, clips, and related hardware.
Perform hands-on troubleshooting of hardware issues such as harnesses rubbing, interfering with components, or presenting routing conflicts.
Evaluate electrical routing issues, identify root causes, and propose practical rerouting options or design fixes.
Develop and support the reasoning for corrective actions and ensure effective implementation of design changes.
Translate electrical schematics into accurate and manufacturable physical harness designs.
Review and mark up design models and drawings based on feedback from factory operations and field performance.
Coordinate design updates and changes with offshore design teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
Support NPS partial design work and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, contributing to new and updated product designs.
Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align designs with performance, reliability, and production requirements.
Participate in BIQs, Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and quality audits to ensure design compliance and continuous improvement.
Contribute to CIP/NPO workloads, partnering with offshore teams to complete design activities and resolve open design issues.
Allocate approximately 10% of time to direct design work and 90% to design reviews, markups, coordination, and implementation activities.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
2-3 years of relevant engineering experience preferred, with consideration for standout entry-level candidates who demonstrate strong initiative.

Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) or similar product launch activities.
background in working with manufacturing and quality teams to refine designs based on production and field feedback.
Experience participating in BIQs, ECRs, and quality audits.
Prior involvement in Continuous Improvement (CIP) or New Product Options (NPO) workloads.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a collaborative team.
Strong initiative and ownership mindset, particularly valuable for early-career candidates.
