ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Work with the accounting department to settle trades, follow cash flows between funds, issue directives and problem-solve any issues that arise with daily functions.
Assist with the management and coordination of external managers. Support the senior investment staff with fixed income, equity, real estate and alternative investments.
Assist with interviews for external managers to review current managers' performance and assist with decisions regarding strategic asset allocation.
Assist, provide information and make decisions required for cash management. Prepare a variety of reports for various groups.
Provide assistance to State agencies requiring security-specific or market information; have knowledge of State agencies' cash flow requirements.
Review reports from portfolio managers, facilitate effective communication with managers and ensure they comply with the Treasurer's Office Investment Policy.
Read and assess a variety of research reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to those with a master's degree (business, finance, economics or related field). Preference may be given for at least one year of work experience (typically institutional investment).
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of Excel required.
Thorough understanding of institutional investments and finance.
Skill in decision making, time management, personal interaction, computers, oral and written communication, and multitasking.
Ability to work with unfamiliar concepts, take ownership of work and deliver timely results.
Understanding of equities, fixed income, real estate and alternative assets.
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment utilizing strong interpersonal skills.
Strong time management and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Desire to work hard, learn and contribute to the team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
1 - 3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Investment Analyst

None.
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
General office conditions.
Minimal lifting.
Some travel is necessary.

FLSA: Exempt
This position is eligible for part-time telework.
This position is At-Will and is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the CIO.
Candidates are required to undergo a criminal background check requiring fingerprinting.
