The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Ground Systems Support Directorate including, but not limited to the following:
Answer telephones and video conference calls while taking messages or transferring calls, scheduling appointments, and updating event calendars.
Arrange Staff Meetings, handle incoming and outgoing mail, prepare office memos/emails, and coordinate invoices and other financial reports/documentation.
Use and assist in maintaining a variety of office equipment. o Edit documents and maintain databases / digital filing systems.
Maintain various distribution lists for the Directorate. o Manage conference room calendars and coordinate meetings for Engineering Directorate personnel.
Manage/purchase appropriate office stockroom supplies and coordinate other Engineering Directorate purchase requisitions.
Process various personnel requests such as on-site badging, safety shoes/glasses, organizational changes, etc.
Provide meeting/board support to record notes and actions.
Coordinate award presentations and other special Directorate events.
Perform a variety of other clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
In addition to Administrative roles the responsibility would extend to support, applicable, tracking and directorate compliance liaison tasks:
Support Ground System Support audits for both internal and external audits
Manage GSS Awards Submittal Process, GSS SharePoint, and Award Fee submittals
Maintain records and compile report data such as but not limited to training, certification, awards, staffing, directorate, corrective actions, audit findings, and award fees.
Support maintaining distribution list and support managing documents sign offs, document submittals, and tracking processes.
Assist directorate metrics.
Innovate better ways of doing assigned tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of experience.
Must have a valid Drivers License.
This is an mid level position (or higher) with at least three years of related experience or an associate degree with 1 year of experience.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office software is required (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, MS Teams, Sharepoint).
Familiar with use and setup of video conferencing software - particularly MS Teams.
Must be extremely well organized, flexible, and capable of effectively prioritizing multiple tasks.
Ability to work effectively, personable, and cooperatively in a large team environment.
Excellent communication and internal/external customer interface skills (written and verbal).
Self-motivated, demonstrates initiative, and able to work independently (or with minimal supervision).
Physical Requirement
May be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting.
Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and other associated personal protective equipment.
Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.
Work Environment
May be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
Position may require individual to travel daily to different areas on site.
Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, may be required to access various locations on the facility.
Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.

Attendance
Full-time work hours.
Position may require occasional overtime, including weekend work, depending on task.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Shift work may be required.
Other Essential Function
Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel.

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
Must comply with all "drug free workplace" requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
Government security clearance may be required in the future.
